The Afan Valley (Little Switzerland as it has been called) is not only ideally placed for mountain biking, but for a host of other activities and things to do and see.
This part of South Wales is blessed to have a diverse landscape of mountainous terrain, gentle rolling countryside, a spectacular coastline with beaches and craggy cliffs, and is close to the metropolitan capital city of Wales Cardiff and the up and coming Swansea, both with their share of entertainment, shopping facilities and cultural centres.

Local convenience store (50 yards) - open till 10.00p.m. and provides groceries, magazines, newspapers, etc and has DVD hire.
Takeaway (50 yards) - Next to the convenience store and provides chips, burgers, kebabs etc open usually from 5p.m. till 10p.m.
Post Office (50 yards)
Up the hill is the Hall (500 yards) where drinks are served
Further afield is Port Talbot with shopping facilities, (Tescos etc)
Swansea is appox 30 minutes drive.
Cardiff is approx 45 minutes drive.
